Indigo is now a very popular name in the aviation industry of India, which started operations in year 2006. Indigo now operates flights to about 37 destinations domestically and internationally. The total number of daily flights of Indigo is about 534. The first international flight of Indigo was from New Delhi to Dubai, commenced on 1st of September 2011.

Once factor which makes Indigo unique is that in order to cut down the operational overhead, the company operates with only A320 aircraft of Airbus in the fleet. Indigo purchases on new aircraft to be added to its fleet. As of the latest, Indigo operates with 85 aircraft in its fleet and the average fleet age of Indigo is 2.9 years.
